Comparison:
[A job seeker, or a company trying to figure out hiring in face of AI advances, it's ] ‘. . . driving through fog. If it's foggy, you slow down a bit. But if it's really foggy, you pull over. And unfortunately, some companies have pulled over to sit and wait to see what is gonna happen.‘
According to researcher Laura Ullrich, trying to operate in a deep fog may be the best way to capture job seeking, or job offering in the face of AI challenges and opportunities. Many thanks to CBS Sunday Morning for interviewing and quoting her. If fog was NOT available as a point of comparison, image or idea what would you use?

Context:
According to Laura Ullrich, director of economic research at Indeed, the job-listings website, job postings have declined year over year by 6.7 percent. . . .
The uncertain national situation (tariffs, taxes, foreign policy) doesn't help, either. Ullrich said, ‘Some other people have used the analogy of, like, driving through fog. If it's foggy, you slow down a bit. But if it's really foggy, you pull over. And unfortunately, some companies have pulled over to sit and wait to see what is gonna happen.’
